| Hollowback - Hollowback is one of the most famous freezes that you will
will see. The hollowback may be common but it is not an easy accomplish,
the difficulty of the hollowback is rated by how much you can bend your back over while still keeping
balance on your hands. Aaron has had much practise and here you can see he can bend very far back. |
 |
| L-kick - Another quite famous freeze. There are a number of variations on the L-kick
but they all pretty much look the same, just some are more fancier. It involves a handstand
with one leg up and the other out touching your hand or whatever, making you look like your
legs are in an L shape. This moved was performed by Phil. |
 |
| Master Swipes - A very common power move that is seen a lot but no one seems to know
the name. A master swipe is the swipe of all swipes and is the only one considered a power
move. Here my little brother Jason is doing a master swipe. A bit complicated to say for
a small table so email me if you want more details or just ask me to show you. |
 |
| Miniflare - Miniflares are what we do because none of us can do flares just yet
(they're really hard). The process involves kicking your legs around to form a V-shape and
then wrapping your legs around on the other side. This move is done by Aaron here but we
can all pretty much do this move. |
 |
| Air Swipes - Air Swipes are a smaller form of the Master Swipes. This involves starting
in the crap position(like you're going to do a crab walk) and then jumping up and spinning
your legs around. It's easy to do but it's hard to make it look cool. Surprisingly Jason
can make this move look really cool. |
 |
| Turtle - The turtle is the basis for moves like the handglide, the cricket
etc. The turtle involves getting into the position you see here and walking around in
circles on your hands. It takes time to learn the position because you feel too weak but
it's only an illusion, it's more to do with balance, which you'll get used to. |
 |
| Uprocking - As I mentioned earlier, this is referred to the non-breaking culture as
"break fighting". Freestyle breaking was derived from uprocking, with the footwork
taken from this kind of breaking. Breakers lose points in this position by either accidentally
touching the opponent while dancing in their face or are not as skilled as the opponent. |
 |
| Windmills - Windmills in my opinion are the second most famous powermove around,
the headspin being the first. The windmill involves rolling around on the ground with your
legs flying around in a V shape around you. It sounds easy but believe you me, it took me
an extremely large amount of practise to get this move and it's not something learnt overnight. |
