You may like to consider a career in education.  As an educator you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the lives of young children and young people.  Early childhood educators are involved in working with children, staff, families and communities. Their role is one of teacher, leader and administrator as they develop learning programs for young children, act as an advocate for the early childhood field and manage staff and resources in services.  Primary and secondary teachers interact with their students and the school community. They work in staff teams to engage students in curriculum through appropriate pedagogies in their local community context.  If you are interested in teaching as a career I encourage you to watch the following for details of the courses we offer from the Murray School of Education.

For me Leadership involves the following
But leaders need to know how to support self-organising responses.  People do not need the intricate directions, time lines, plans, and organization charts that are assumed to be necessary. These are not how people accomplish good work; they are what impede contributions.  But people need a great deal from their leaders.  They need information, access to one another, resources, trust, and follow-through.  Leaders are necessary to foster experimentation, to help create connections across the organization, to feed the system with information from multiple sources - all while helping everyone stay clear on what we agreed we wanted to accomplish and who we wanted to be (Wheatley, 2005, p. 70).

Many things can wait.
Children cannot.
Today
their bones are being
formed,
their blood is
being made
and their
senses are
being developed.
To
them we cannot say
tomorrow.
Their name
is today.
