What you see at the right is the first bike that I owned, a Suzuki Katana 750 (also available in an 1100cc version), which I bought in 1983 for the grand sum of $2.500 from a friend in my home town. I sold it in 1986 for $2.300. When I first got this bike I had only just turned 18. I only had my learners permit for a motorcycle, however, as I had my full car license it allowed me to ride any sized bike (engine capacity) This was therefore the bike that I learned to ride on, having previously only ridden dirt bikes
The Katana was a good first bike, it was reliable and relatively easy to ride. The only modifications ( if you can call them that) was the addition of a two into one exhaust system, a set of after market shocks and a luggage rack. These mods made the bike easier to live with.
